31 Days of Love Day 5: Thankfulness

"If you woke up this morning with only the things you thanked God for last night what would you be missing from your life?"

I read that quote about a week ago on facebook and now every night in my prayers, I thank God for every single thing I can think of...I usually fall asleep before I finish. Everything from my kids, my husband, our dog, etc to simple things like sheets on my bed and a running car in my driveway.

I have so much love in my life that I almost take it for granted sometimes and forget to be thankful. It's hard  not to get so caught up in the stresses of life that we forget to stop, look around, and be thankful for the blessings we have.

I have two amazingly beautiful and perfect kids. I am so thankful for them. I know several couples who are unable to conceive children and I am thankful that God gave us these beautiful children. They are truly all that matters at the end of the day.

I have a husband who works his tail off to provide for our family and I am so thankful for him. He is a fabulous father and is putting so much effort into being a wonderful husband. He is a wonderful man whom I love so much.

I have heat. I have running water. I have a sweet dog who keeps me company. I have a roof over my head. I have clothes and an income and food in my pantry. I am blessed and I am THANKFUL! God has provided for us. He has met all of our needs. I love that I have so many blessings in my life to be thankful for and will continue to be thankful on a daily basis. Being thankful and counting my blessings has really helped me to appreciate what I have and to truly begin to love my life even more.

So let me ask you...when was the last time you counted your blessings and were truly thankful for all that you have?

  1. Thanks for the gentle reminder. Sometimes it is so easy to focus on the storm and chaos that surrounds that I fail to see the dove and rainbow on the horizon.
