A Month Too Early

So this morning as I'm just waking up my husband walks in from work with a serious look on his face. He looked at me and slowly said, " I have a news...Someone dropped out of deployment for this month and I was next on the list.." It took me a few minutes to make sense of what he had said when I finally pulled words together and said as tears were welling in my eyes, "When do you leave?" And like daggers in my heart he replied as calmly as he could, "April 15th". My heart dropped and the tears started flowing. My mind began racing of what I would and everything that would happen and before I could get a word out of my mouth he exclaimed, "APRIL FOOLS!"....Then I beat him playfully with a pillow. Mean joke. But that is our relationship. We are both huge pranksters and I intend on getting him back for that as well as the powdered Tang he poured in my bath last night. He better watch out : )
